Our Work Flow
Step 1: Choose Your Design
Tell us what your challenge is and we will help you to design a solution that overcomes it and fits within your budget. If you choose one of our standard sleepouts nz designs we can get things underway immediately. If you have your own design or would like us to help, we can assist. We can draw up layout plans that bring your design to life and can suggest details that help to enhance your requirements. Once you have confirmed your requirements, we produce a job sheet with all the details and send it to production. Your order will be ready within 1-3 weeks from this point.
Step 2: Build Your Design
Once our factory has your job sheet, we order joinery, roofing and flashings and your job is entered into our production schedule. Your order is manufactured under cover and in a controlled environment. We use templates and jigs to ensure your order is manufactured to a consistently high standard.
Step 3: InstallationWe can come to your site to install a trailer cabin using our customised delivery trailer or we can lift over obstacles using a crane truck. We can also fully assemble a trailer cabin on your site if you have access difficulties (T&Cs apply). With our under 10m2 sleepouts we can also install foundations or skids on your site and build the sleepout on top. We also have trailer options for you under 10m2 sleepout if you wish. If you require a deck and or awning / outdoor blinds; we can also do that. Just ask for the options.
What are SleepOuts NZ?
In the New Zealand (and Australian) context, the sleepout nz is a covered in veranda area or a detached shed or cabin that was used as additional sleeping space. Over the years, the sleepout has become much more sophisticated and can now include fold away beds, wall mounted TVs, solar power, bathroom and kitchen as well as the full range of joinery that can provide great indoor outdoor flow! We can also add a Stratco Louvre Roof, Pergola or Flat Roof Patio to provide a contemporary, low maintenance look.
Today, with the price of building and property prices sky rocketing, they serve a much more practical role closer to home. Children are choosing to return home or stay at home longer while they go to university or save for their own home. Investors want to maximise their returns by utilising “dead” space to provide additional accommodation. Family baches are bursting at the seams as families grow so a “sleepout” is a very old solution to a very modern challenge.

Liz and I were both very happy with Victors service in building our sleep out and were thrilled with the final result . We found Victor very responsive throughout the whole process. Victors team put a lot of thought into our fold up beds which are very cunning. I would definitely use Victor again and would certainly recommend him to othersWarren and Liz Hutt
Hi Victor, Thanks, I would like to say it has been a pleasure dealing with you and your company, a very smooth and easy experience, and a great product. Thanks again…Andy
1) Victor arranged to meet us on site and showed us through one of the finished units and then through the workshop where we got to see several buildings in various stages. We were hooked. This was exactly what we’d been looking for.
A totally finished unit with everything we wanted in it. No travelling for 6 hours with a trailer full of building materials. No days spent trying to line or finish off the building while everyone else was on holiday.
For Lottie who is a very finicky buyer, Victor was the ideal salesman, quite laid back but able to answer all of our questions, explain how different things worked and the different options available to us.
He didn’t push us but just allowed the product to sell itself. Thanks guys
